You pull the Phosphor Bomb from your Backpack and hurl it at the Vorka who are swarming up the stairs. It smashes and explodes at their feet, showering the leading half-dozen with hissing white fragments of burning metal and flaming oil. The creatures hit by the blast are thrown back onto those behind them, and they all tumble down the steps in a tangled burning heap. Your deadly weapon has delayed their advance, but it will not stop the waves of armed Vorka that continue to emerge from the distant archway.

You rush to the head of the stairs and focus your gaze at the rune that is embedded into the side of the bell-chamber. Only by destroying this rune can you stem the Vorka tide. Vandyan is also aware of this and he screams an order to those creatures that are closest to the chamber. In response, they close ranks and use their bodies to form a protective wall in front of the rune.
