As the last of the Eldenorans falls victim to your deadly blows, the mongrel dog yelps with fright and bounds away along the tunnel. You wipe and sheathe your weapon and then enter the chamber to investigate the Eldenoran’s hoard of loot.
Among bulging bags of silver Slovian Lune, ornate candlesticks, polished silver plates, and gemstones, you uncover one item of greater value than all of the others put together. It is a golden chalice set with rubies and emeralds. You examine it closely and conclude that it was stolen from Tekaro Cathedral. (If you wish to take the Tekaro Chalice, record it on your Action Chart as a Backpack Item.)
Having satisfied yourself that you have not overlooked anything else of special value, you leave the mine and continue your trek along the ravine. Night is fast approaching and you have barely covered a mile when the ravine comes to an abrupt end at the edge of a deep gorge. Less than a hundred yards away to the west you can see the outline of a rocky knoll with a slate base that juts out over the rim of this steep, wooded valley. To the east, the gorge cuts a deep furrow through the forest for many miles. There appears to be no easy way of avoiding the gorge, but you are unwilling to attempt a descent in the dark. Instead, you decide to find somewhere safe nearby where you can make camp and await the dawn.
