The moment you turn the third dial to its correct setting,⁹ the great black door swings silently open to reveal a magnificent marble chamber, lit by a glowing orb which hangs suspended in mid-air. The walls are covered with battle scenes, recently engraved, which depict the victories of Vandyan’s Vorka hordes against the Freeland armies of the Stornlands. On a table at the far end of the chamber you discover a wooden rack which contains three stoppered vials. In each of these glass tubes there is a coloured, jelly-like liquid: one red, one yellow, and one blue.
