There is a flash of bluish light, and then a bolt of energy arcs from your finger to hit the beast in the neck. The impact of your magical missile slams the creature against the wall of the hold, but it does not incapacitate it. Before it can fully recover, you unsheathe your Kai Weapon and rush forward to strike the first blow.
