Slaughter Mountain Run

Footnotes

[1] (Equipment) If you have already completed the previous Freeway Warrior adventure in Highway Holocaust, it is unclear whether you may replenish your supplies before starting this adventure or whether you can only carry over the supplies you carried at the end of the previous adventure. It seems reasonable that you would be able to restock your supplies while in Big Spring before setting off for El Paso.

[2] (Weapons) It is reasonably clear that the Machine Pistol should not be used if you have fewer than 6 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

For some readers, however, it may seem counterintuitive to have ammunition left but be unable to use the weapon. We suggest to these readers that when 9mm ammunition falls below 6 rounds, the Machine Pistol can be treated as a Pistol (cf. Section 333 of Highway Holocaust). While this is not a perfect solution, it is a reasonable compromise.

[3] (Section 44) Use of this Medi-kit does not restore any ENDURANCE points in this instance.

[4] (Section 52) This is the correct answer to the security valve puzzle in Section 129.

[5] (Section 129) The section corresponding to the correct answer will have a footnote confirming that it is indeed correct.

[6] (Section 233) It is possible that you may not be carrying a missile weapon at this point. This is a game-design issue that cannot be easily rectified.

[7] (Section 328) This Stealth penalty is probably in addition to the penalty for carrying more than 3 Backpack Items (e.g. if the Leviathan Missile is your fourth Backpack Item, you incur a 3-point penalty rather than just 2). Alternatively, you may read it to mean that the Leviathan Missile gives a 2-point penalty irrespective of how many other Backpack Items you are carrying.
