{"id":59,"date":"2005-09-06T18:00:36","date_gmt":"2005-09-06T16:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ikiru.ch\/blog\/?p=59"},"modified":"2025-05-08T19:09:05","modified_gmt":"2025-05-09T00:09:05","slug":"thin-red-line-the","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jcvignoli.com\/blog\/2005\/thin-red-line-the","title":{"rendered":"Thin Red Line, the"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>La croix de guerre, la m\u00e9daille de la bravoure, et quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;autres d\u00e9corations de m\u00e9rite sont les symboles qu&rsquo;on nous ass\u00e8ne, sans remords, dans les films de guerre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oui, parce que la guerre c&rsquo;est avant tout une histoire d&rsquo;homme, de courage, de fiert\u00e9, d&rsquo;honneur. L&rsquo;image de guerrier vaillant, le fusil droit comme un \u00ab\u00a0i\u00a0\u00bb, partant d\u00e9fendre sa patrie est une esp\u00e8ce d&rsquo;id\u00e9al commun qu&rsquo;on veut nous faire avaler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Des hommes comme Mallick, ou Peter Kosminsky (Warriors, 1999) tentent de voir ce qu&rsquo;il y a au-del\u00e0 de cette propagande. La guerre n&rsquo;est pas belle, nous le savons tous plus ou moins, et pourtant nous ne voulons y croire. Un travail n\u00e9cessaire, lorsque l&rsquo;on en est encore \u00e0 croire que les guerres se font au nom d&rsquo;une id\u00e9ologie juste. Sur un champs de bataille, ce sont des robots, sans plus grand-chose d&rsquo;humain, qui \u00ab\u00a0remplissent leur devoir\u00a0\u00bb. L&rsquo;inutilit\u00e9, la fatuit\u00e9 de la chose est d\u00e9montr\u00e9e avec brio ici; l&rsquo;enjeu d&rsquo;un affront, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme majeur, peut se r\u00e9sumer \u00e0 contenter les caprices d&rsquo;un fou de guerre. La vie, d&rsquo;ailleurs, pourrait se r\u00e9sumer pour bien d&rsquo;entre nous \u00e0 ex\u00e9cuter les caprices de quelqu&rsquo;un d&rsquo;autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sous pr\u00e9texte de parler de combat, Mallick aborde \u00e9galement un sujet important, le r\u00eave. Si pour beaucoup, le r\u00eave fait avancer, il semble \u00eatre le reflet d&rsquo;un moi int\u00e9rieur. Et lorsque ce moi \u00ab\u00a0se perverti\u00a0\u00bb face au monde ext\u00e9rieur, le r\u00eave change, pour se transformer en quelque chose de tout aussi perverti. Mais l&rsquo;amour, antith\u00e8se de la haine humaine, est une sorte de balancier; \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine du r\u00eave, cet amour est capable de nous prot\u00e9ger, ou du moins de nous permettre de nous \u00e9chapper de l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toutefois, le propre d&rsquo;un r\u00eave est de n&rsquo;exister que dans sa propre t\u00eate. L&rsquo;amour n&rsquo;est lui m\u00eame qu&rsquo;un doux songe, une passion qui peut ne pas r\u00e9sister aux temp\u00eates de la s\u00e9paration. Ainsi, alors que durant une bonne partie du film, c&rsquo;est une femme qui fait tenir l&rsquo;un des soldats, o\u00f9 un lien magique semble exister entre eux, Mallick se fait un plaisir de saborder ce mythe kitsch, en montrant l\u00e0 aussi l&rsquo;absurde d&rsquo;un lien transcendant l&rsquo;\u00e2me. Apr\u00e8s le mythe du h\u00e9ros-guerrier, le mythe du h\u00e9ros-aim\u00e9 en prend pour son grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9truire des arch\u00e9types n&rsquo;a qu&rsquo;un seul but : reconstruire sur des bases plus saines. L&rsquo;amour et la haine (mais ne serait-ce pas plut\u00f4t eros et thanatos ?) sont des composantes de l&rsquo;\u00e2me humaine, des p\u00f4les r\u00e9gissant nos actions. Comprendre ces m\u00e9canismes, savoir comment les ma\u00eetriser, voil\u00e0 un d\u00e9fi dans lequel l&rsquo;humanit\u00e9 devrait se lancer.
