Un homme \u00e9go\u00efste, Fred, s’ennuie dans sa vie monotone. Heureusement pour lui, le voil\u00e0 qui h\u00e9rite d’un paquet d’argent, ce qui lui permettra de voir du monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La trame est simple, tout comme le film. Film\u00e9 sans beaucoup d’imagination, les sc\u00e8nes se succ\u00e8dent dans une longueur habituelle chez Hitchcock; sauf que l\u00e0, on trouve le temps long, on est peu int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par les d\u00e9couvertes (Paulo) cohelosques du h\u00e9ros. Il va jusqu’au bout du monde, se d\u00e9tachant progressivement de sa vie qui a aussi peu de couleurs que le film, et se rendra compte que ce qu’il cherchait \u00e9tait sous son nez. Il s’\u00e9loigne de sa femme, tombe amoureux d’un aventuri\u00e8re qu’il prend pour une princesse. Son \u00e9pouse, \u00e9perdument amoureuse de lui malgr\u00e9 les obstacles et les pr\u00e9tendants, lui restera fid\u00e8le, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant la monotonie de la vie avec lui plut\u00f4t qu’une existence plus riche avec d’autres. Seule la peur de la mort fera r\u00e9aliser au couple qu’il s’aiment.<\/p>\n\n\n

Le film est manqu\u00e9, bien que les premi\u00e8res images laissent pr\u00e9sager un grand plaisir; avec une inspiration \u00e0 la Jacques Tati, on assiste \u00e0 une d\u00e9personnalisation de la vie moderne, bureaucratique et anonyme. On s’attend au mieux… mais on a le pire, toute l’inspiration semble avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 insuffl\u00e9e dans les premi\u00e8res minutes, laissant vide le reste de l’oeuvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A la morale tr\u00e8s discutable, tr\u00e8s timor\u00e9, on se demande comment le Hitchcock des ann\u00e9es 40 et plus est le m\u00eame que celui qui a commis Rich and strange<\/span>. \u00ab\u00a0L’argent ne fait pas le bonheur\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0il faut se contenter de ce que l’on a\u00a0\u00bb, happy end \u00e0 deux sous, ce n’est d\u00e9finitivement pas un bon Hitch. A r\u00e9server aux curieux du ma\u00eetre, ou aux cin\u00e9philes avertis.<\/p>\n
